Clear Channel Radio Unveils Distinguished Panel of Judges for EAR Awards

Advertising Industry Media Notables Help Recognize Outstanding Radio Creative

NEW YORK – July 30, 2007 -- Clear Channel Radio today unveiled the advertising industry media notables participating on the independent panel of judges for the Excellence in Advertising on Radio (EAR) Awards.


Panelists will include: Scott Donaton, publisher of Advertising Age and Creativity; Teressa Iezzi, editor of Creativity, Jonah Bloom, editor of Advertising Age, Bradley Johnson, director of data analytics for Advertising Age and former editor of American Demographics, Josh Jackson, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Paste and Amy Corr, managing editor of MediaPost’s online newsletters .

 

Judges will be selecting the best advertising creative in six different award categories following a preliminary judging phase to be handled by dozens of advertising executives. Clear Channel Radio announced an industry-wide call for entries earlier this month.

 

“We think it’s tremendous that in its first year as an industry event, the EAR Awards program is kicking off with the involvement of such informed and infulential media,” said John Hogan, president and CEO of Clear Channel Radio. “Each of these journalists has provided enlightened coverage of radio, and we are truly fortunate to have the benefit of their insight as part of the selection process.”

 

EAR Award prizes for the best radio creative include $1,000,000 in radio airtime, a new BMW 3 series convertible, a pair of new mini coopers, a private chartered jet to any U.S. destination and more. There is no charge to enter, and creative advertisement submissions can be uploaded at www.EARawards.com. Awards will be presented at a luncheon at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, NY on November 2, 2007.
